Discharge Screen Printing - services and prices

Vacord now offers discharge printing! We have had good results so far with our discharge orders and test printing, but we still consider it experimental and that needs to be taken into consideration when placing an order. Discharge may not be very effective on certain colors, but almost all that we have tried discharge to an extent, usually very well. The only trouble we've had with Gildan brand shirts were purple, which discharged to a blue-gray, and with American Apparel we found that mint green and baby blue discharged, but not brightly enough to give good contrast between the print and the garment color.

Pigmenting (adding color dye) to the discharge base ink can be tricky to acheive the right end result. We cannot guarantee complete accuracy when pigmenting discharge ink for printing orders, but we are working to perfect the process.

Discharge printing is a premium service and accordingly the prices are a little higher than we charge for normal printing. If you are more interested in having regular water-based printing done, please visit Vacord.com to see information on those services, as well as general prices and examples.

There is a minimum of ten items for one-color discharge prints, except hoodies for which there is a minimum of five. The minimum for two-color, whether all colors or discharge or otherwise, is fifteen shirts or hoodies, three-color is twenty-four items, and four-color has a minimum of thirty-six items. Contact us directly if your design is more than four colors. Discharge underbase with a color on top counts as two-colors (for example this is necessary when trying to acheive a red print on a black shirt.)

There is a $10 charge for setting up each screen. Designs with multiple colors require a separate screen for every color. Our screen set up charge is significantly lower than most printers in order to encourage small run orders.
